FAQ 1: Why call it "No Evasion of Reality"
I recently read a quote from the late Jeff Buckley (for those who don't know who he is check out his album 'Grace' and listen to it).
He once wrote:
"BE THE BEST
NO NEGATIVITY
NO WEAKNESS
NO ACQUIESCENCE TO FEAR OR DISASTER
NO ERRORS OF IGNORANCE
NO EVASION OF REALITY"
Why do young people go travelling?
Some people do it for a break before starting work for the next 40 years in an office,
Some do it for booze, parties and because their mates are doing it,
Thats cool and all the best to them,
However, most do it to broaden their horizons and experience different cultures, to see the world outside of their own back garden. With this they gain the experience and armour to form an opinion on the world that as they grew up, were just being told how it was by teachers, parents, the government and the media.
I currently read this quote in this light and say that its about getting out there and figuring out what its all about, having an open mind, learning new things, meeting all the faces and characters that come along with it and no longer being ignorant. Its also a very personal thing. Its about overcoming adversity when it hits and no longer avoiding the reality that sits out there... with this you can have fun, be the best that you can be, and learn something that deserves to be heard. Something hopefully of value.
I know quite a few of you reading this have already been travelling, some I know are really wanting to (and are jealous) and some soon are going. I'd love to know your views...
